The state government has decided to implement the district cooling system for the industries to be set up in the prestigious project of Telangana, "Aushadanagari". It will be set up with public and private participation at a cost of Rs. 1539 crore. A chilled water supply system is present in various countries of the world but not in India. Companies use this water for manufacturing products in the pharmaceutical industry. For this, machines are being installed to cool the water to a temperature of 0.5 to 1 degree Celsius. The government, which is setting up "Aushadanagari as the world's largest cluster of 19,333 acres, has introduced a centralised system of chilled water plants as part of its anti-pollution measures.
Decided to set up. After conducting studies in various countries, the government decided to go with the DCS system. Initially, it will be established at five locations in the 3715 acres identified for the third phase of "Aushadanagari with a TR (Tonnes of Refrigeration) capacity of 125,000 tonnes at a rate of 25,000 acres.
Why huge cooling plant, pump house, and pipeline network?
A huge cooling plant, pump house, and pipeline network have been established for this. A separate building for cooling is set up with a compressor in it. A chiller, a, absorption chiller, and air conditioning machines are installed. A huge cooling plant, pump house, and pipeline network have been established for this. Large CDS can save 20 to 35 percent of electricity compared to individual plants. It is distributed directly to industries through pipelines. A fee is collected from them for this. Since establishing and maintaining this project is very costly, the government has decided to take it up under a private partnership. For this purpose, a new state industrial and infrastructure organisation has been formed. Large CDS can save 20 to 35 percent of electricity compared to individual plants. For this, the State Industrial and Infrastructure Corporation has recently finalised the structure and invited proposals (Request for Proposals) on initiation, implementation, management (designing, financing, implementation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance), along with mobilisation of financial resources. "DCS is being constructed as part of the creation of state-of-the-art facilities in Hyderabad Drug City. Due to this, chilled water is continuously available. Many countries around the world are listening to it. This system will be successful in Drug City as well," said Shakti Nagappan, CEO of Drug City, to Eenadu.
